Merrell is one of the world’s best hiking boots manufacturers. In fact, even the US military uses their products since their boots can endure almost any kind of weather.

As an avid hiker and trailblazer, I always find myself high atop rocky ridges and unforgiving terrain. Unforgiving in a sense that wearing the wrong pair of shoes could mean the end for the said pair and put my life in danger as well. That’s why I made it a point to wear nothing but the best gear when I’m out hiking. With that said, I only wear a pair of Merrell hiking boots because I know these guys can handle ANYTHING!

Merrell Hiking Boots Review – The Merrell Moab GTX

If you’re looking for a pair of high-performance hiking boots while feeling comfortable wearing it, the Merrell Moab GTX should probably be your pick. Its GoraTex outer mesh material allows breathability for your foot while preventing water from seeping in. Check out these features on this fine pair of Merrell hiking boots.

  1. Waterproof synthetic and mesh upper
  2. Bellows tongue keeps debris out
  3. Synthetic leather toe cap and heel counter
  4. Merrell M Select™ FIT.ECO blended EVA contoured footbed with organic odor control
  5. Molded nylon arch shank
  6. Merrell air cushion in the heel absorbs shock and adds stability
  7. Compression molded EVA footframe provides cushioning
  8. 5mm sole lug depth
  9. Vibram® outsole
  10. Weight: 1lbs 15oz

So what’s the review going to be based on? Well, I’m going to base it on the FIT, PERFORMANCE, and COMFORT, all graded on a scale from 1 to 10.

The fit -7/10

So much like other hiking boots from Merrell, the fit is really subjective. You could be a size 8, but you could end up with

Here are some clips that you’ll see from this awesome product review :

The outsole is Vibram–an Italian company known for inventing rubber soles–and is very sturdy providing great traction between the ground and the boots. It’s always good to look for these makers’ mark so you’d know you get the top quality material.

The waterproof GoreTex membrane makes the boots waterproof but apparently, it doesn’t do much good during winter. Snow gets in through the top of the boots and melts making your feet wet. Nonetheless, the Moab GTX is an excellent choice for all other seasons.

Merrell is a very popular foot gear manufacturer, and the quality of their work lives up to their fame. Although, like all other products their shoes aren’t perfect. It’s got pros and cons, but the choice is definitely up to you.
