Gerber teams up with Bear Grylls to make top-of-the-line outdoor and survival gear called the Gerber Bear Grylls Survival Kit. Do you have a survival kit packed along with your hunting gear? No matter where you are and no matter what you do, preparing for the worst is never a bad habit. It may not always be a survival scenario every time you go out into the wild, but it helps to be prepared. Be sure you’re always prepared by securing an EDC survival kit like this Gerber Bear Grylls Survival Kit.

The Gerber Bear Grylls Survival Kit For Emergencies And Disasters

Ultimate Survival Tips reviews the Gerber Bear Grylls Survival Kit and there are ups and downs with the content of the kit. Its compact design allows it to fit in a small bag. Although it’s meant to be an all-in-one survival kit, it’s always up to you to add or remove items from the kit. So check out the items on the Bear Grylls Survival Kit here!

1 Outer Bag

The external bag measures about 5 x 7 inches. It includes a set of land and air rescue instructions, sewn onto the back of the bag. It also has an emergency whistle attached to the zipper. The bag has sufficient space to house everything and a little more items inside the bag.

2 Heavy-Duty Zip Lock

This is a heavy-duty waterproof bag that protects your important gears: compass, firestarters, and other sensitive items.

3 Firestarters

For firestarters, these items are all that you need especially the Ferro rod. But the cotton ball a.k.a tinder seems to come in fewer amounts than expected. You might want to add a couple more cotton balls since they don’t occupy too much space.

4 Food Gathering Items

Trapping and fishing will probably be your main source of protein-filled food. A brass wire and waxed string is included for trapping and there’s an entire fishing kit for you to use too!

5 Thermal Blanket and Flashlight

The kit includes a thin thermal blanket to keep you warm. Apparently, the material is way too thin and might get torn up easily. The same goes for the pin light, which seem too brittle. You better use it carefully or swap it out with a better one instead.

6 Cutting Tools

The Bear Grylls Survival Kit has a couple of cutting tools included in the kit. A hand saw and the Gerber Clutch — a multi-tool that can be used for cutting, plucking, gripping, or filing things.

7 Generic Survival Items

The rest of the items are ones that you’d see in almost all survival kits like a length of paracord, reflective mirror for signalling, and a couple of whistles. The weirdest item on the list is the sewing kit with which I can’t imagine myself using in a survival situation.

Like most survival kits, it’s your call to add or remove items in this kit. I’d suggest replacing the thermal blanket with a thicker one because this one’s too thin to hold out long. You can add in a compass or a small first aid kit or anything that you think might be useful in case of trouble.
